What are we learning today?
You will learn to join sentences with "if", "where", "before" and "after".
Explanation
- "If" for a general fact: use the present simple in both parts.
- "Where" for a place: "That's the hotel where we stayed."
- "Before" and "after" show the order of events.
- Put a comma after a clause at the start: "After we arrived, we had lunch."
Examples
- If you heat ice, it melts.
- This is the station where we got off.
- After we got off the coach, we walked to the hotel.
Remember!
- Do not use "will" in both parts of a general fact.
- Do not use "where" for people.
- Do not mix up "before" and "after".
