Reading a Short Text

What are we learning today?

You will learn how to read a short text on your own.

Explanation

• First, look at the title and the pictures.
• Think about what the text is about.
• Read once for the general idea.
• Read the questions. Then read again for details.
• Check the new words. Write them in a vocabulary notebook.

Examples

1. Before you read a forum about unusual hotels, ask: "What's unusual about the hotels?"
2. A blog can tell about life in a cold town.
3. A short summary: "The wood has paths, ducks, rabbits and deer."

Remember!

• Do not read word by word without a goal.
• Tell a friend what you read in one or two sentences.
