Organising Information

What are we learning today?

You will learn how to put facts in order. Then you can tell them clearly to other people.

Explanation

Information is easier to understand when it is organised. You can use three tools.

• A table has columns. For example: Country, Climate, Crops, Diet.
• Columns can group things. For example: pets, farm animals, wild animals.
• A word web has a topic in the middle. Around it you write headings: Food, Looks, Interesting Facts, Activities, Location.

Then you speak or write from your plan.

Examples

1. Mediterranean - hot summer, rainy winter - oranges, figs.
2. Polar climate - none - meat, fish.
3. Food - plants. You say: They eat plants.

Remember!

• Put each fact in the right column.
• Make notes before you write.
• If a table row has nothing, write "none".
