Telling Basic Information

What are we learning today?

You will give basic information about yourself and other people. You will use short sentences.

Explanation

Use this pattern for other people: Name + is from + country. Then say the nationality: She's Japanese.

For yourself, say your name, your age and where you are from. Use am, is and are: I'm, he's, they're.

Examples

1. Yuki is from Japan. She's Japanese.
2. Michel and Nicole are from France. They're French.
3. I'm Alua. I'm eleven. I'm from Astana.

Remember!

• Do not forget is: "She is from Japan", not "She from Japan".
• Country and nationality are different: Japan, Japanese.
• Use "they" with are.
