What are we learning today?

You will understand simple questions without a picture or a hint. You will give the right kind of answer.

Explanation

Listen for the key word in the question.

• What time ...? asks about a time.
• What month ...? asks about a month.
• When's your birthday? asks about a date.
• Where are you from? asks about a country.
• Are you ...? and Is it ...? ask for yes or no.

Examples

1. What time is your first lesson? - At half past eight.
2. When's your birthday? - It's on the 1st of May.
3. Are you eleven? - Yes, I am. / No, I'm not.

Remember!

• Do not answer a time question with a day.
• Answer a yes/no question with a short answer.
• "When" asks about a date.
