What are we learning today?

You will learn to use books and dictionaries to check what a word means.

Explanation

• A vocabulary bank collects the words of a unit with pictures.
• A word box gives you the words for a task. Cross out each word after you use it.
• If a meaning is hard, draw a picture. It helps you remember.
• In a dictionary, choose the meaning that fits your sentence.
• Write the part of speech: n is a noun and v is a verb.
• Then write the word in your own sentence.

Examples

1. catch (v): the letter v shows a verb.
2. wrist (n): the joint between your hand and your arm.
3. I've hurt my wrist.

Remember!

• Many words have more than one meaning. Check the sentence.
• Use a new word in your own sentence.
