Linking Sentences

What are we learning today?

You will learn to join sentences into a good paragraph with linking words.

Explanation

• A paragraph is a group of sentences about one idea.
• Start with the main sentence.
• Firstly opens the first point. Secondly adds another point.
• However shows a contrast.
• In conclusion closes the text.
• Because gives a reason. So gives a result. But shows a contrast. Then shows the next step.
• Do not repeat the same word again and again.

1. I can't go to school because it's far away, so I study at home.
2. I like Art because I can draw. However, I don't like Chemistry.
3. I was tired so I went to bed early.
