Конспект

What are we learning today?

You will put your ideas in a clear order with signal words.

Explanation

  • Clear information follows an order.
  • Signal words show the order: first, next, then, after this, finally.
  • To start a story, you can say: One day last summer, ...
  • Plan with questions: When? Where? Who? What happened at the beginning, in the middle and at the end?
  • In a presentation, say the topic. Then give your points in order. End with a short conclusion.

Examples

  1. First the writer makes the plot. Then the artist pencils the story (draws it with a pencil). Finally the artist adds colour.
  2. First I'll tell you the idea of my comic. Then I'll show the characters.

Remember!

  • Do not jump from one point to another.
  • Use signal words.
  • Start with the main idea, not with small details.

Check yourself

  1. Which signal word shows the last step?
  2. Put in order: colouring, plot, pencilling.
