Конспект
What are we learning today?
You will learn to read a short text yourself and to tell the difference between a story and a text with facts.
Explanation
- First, look at the title and the pictures.
- Read the text once for the general idea.
- Read it again slowly. Underline new words.
- Then answer the questions.
- Non-fiction gives facts and numbers. A blog about a day on a farm is non-fiction.
- Fiction is a story. It has characters, a place and events in order.
Examples
- A text about schools in three countries gives facts. It is non-fiction.
- A story starts: "On a sunny afternoon last June, Lucy Wilson and her friends were in the park." It tells us who, when and where.
Remember!
- For non-fiction, look for facts.
- For a story, look for who, where, when and what happened.
Check yourself
- What do you do first with a new text?
- In the story above, who is in the park and when?
