What are we learning today?

You will learn to support an opinion in writing. You will use reasons and examples.

Explanation

• A good opinion has a reason and an example.
• Reason: Maggie is brave because she does what she wants.
• Example: she takes the scissors and cuts her hair straight across her forehead.
• You can also show another view: Tom thinks she is silly because he laughs at her.
• Write four to six sentences.
• Use linking words: because, for example, however, so.

Examples

1. Maggie is brave because she cuts her hair although her aunts criticise it.
2. For example, she takes the scissors and cuts her hair.
