Telling Your News in a Conversation

What are we learning today?

You will take part in a longer conversation and tell your news.

Explanation

• A longer conversation has many turns.
• Follow this plan: start, tell, ask, react, continue, finish.
• Each turn answers the last one and adds new information.
• Use words like "Well, ..." to sound natural. Ask at least three questions.
• Keep eye contact. End politely: "Nice talking to you. See you!"

Examples

1. Guess what? - What? - I met a famous singer! - Where?
2. What were you doing at 2 pm on Saturday? - I was finishing my homework.
3. Was it raining this morning? - No, it wasn't, but I woke up very early.

Remember!

• Do not answer with one word.
• Ask questions.
• Do not change the topic suddenly.
