What are we learning today?
You will use adjectives, possessive adjectives and short comparisons.
Explanation
- Adjectives describe nouns: an interesting story, a fast runner.
- Some adjectives are opposites: fast and slow, interesting and boring.
- Possessive adjectives show who owns something: my, your, his, her, its, our, their.
- Short adjectives take -er to compare: fast, faster. Then use "than".
- Add -est for the best: the fastest. Longer adjectives use "more" and "most": more interesting, the most interesting.
Examples
- Tobilay does her homework.
- Darren is faster than Gareth.
- This book is more interesting than that book.
- Darren is the fastest runner.
Remember!
- Use "her" for a girl and "his" for a boy.
- Say "faster", not "more fast".
Check yourself
- What is the opposite of "slow"?
- Complete: Anna loves ___ guitar. (her / his)
