What are we learning today?

You will learn to use this, that, personal pronouns and words like something and anything.

Explanation

• Use this and these for things near you. Use that and those for things far away.
• Personal pronouns: I, you, he, she, it, we, they. After a verb, use me, you, him, her, it, us, them.
• Use someone and something in positive sentences.
• Use anyone and anything in questions and negative sentences.
• Nothing and no one already have a negative meaning.

Examples

1. What's that against the wall?
2. There's someone outside!
3. Is there anything in the garage? - No, there's nothing.
4. Come and look at the garden. I'll show you.

Remember!

• Say "There is nothing", not "There isn't nothing".
• Some is for positive sentences. Any is for questions and negatives.
