Asking Simple Questions

What are we learning today?

You will learn to ask simple questions to get information. You will use question words and the correct word order.

Explanation

• Wh- questions start with a question word: Why, When, What, How often.
• Yes/No questions start with a helping word: do, does, are, would.
• The order is: question word + helping word + subject + verb.
• In a shop, you can ask polite questions.

Examples

1. How often do you go to the shopping centre?
2. Would you like to visit the Dubai Mall? Yes, I would.
3. Excuse me, how much are they? Can I try them on?

Remember!

• Do not forget do or does: say "What do you buy there?"
• Answer a "would" question with "would": "Yes, I would."
