Joining Sentences

What are we learning today?

You will learn to join sentences with connectors. Then your paragraph will be smooth.

Explanation

• "but" shows contrast.
• "and" adds an idea.
• "because" gives a reason.
• "After" and "in the evening" show time.
• "Also" adds one more idea. Put a comma after it.
• Do not start every sentence in the same way.

Examples

1. I wore a sweater because it was freezing.
2. After the ice rink, we had a great time at the theme park.
3. The library is old, but it is cosy.

Remember!

• Use "but" for contrast and "because" for a reason.
• You do not need a connector in every sentence.
