What are we learning today?

You will learn to read about other places and compare them with your own country.

Explanation

• Reading helps you to understand other cultures and your own culture.
• In Amsterdam, there are about 1 million bicycles. Many journeys are made by bike. Children take a cycling test at 12.
• Kazakhstan is a huge country, so transport is important. Many people travel by train. Taxis are popular in cities. Planes are the fastest.
• Differences depend on geography, climate and history.

1. Amsterdam has around a million bicycles.
2. There is around 14,000 km of railway in Kazakhstan.
3. In my town many pupils walk to school, but in Amsterdam many ride bikes.
