Making Questions

What are we learning today?

You will learn to make questions in different tenses.

Explanation

• Use this order: question word + auxiliary + subject + main verb.
• A Yes/No question begins with the auxiliary: "Is the airport closed?"
• After "did" use the base verb: "Where did you go?"
• Give short answers: "Yes, I am." "No, they weren't." "Yes, she has."
• Do not keep the statement order. Do not say "You are going?"

Examples

1. What are you doing on Monday morning?
2. Were you studying yesterday?
3. Have you ever had an accident?

Remember!

• Do not forget the auxiliary.
• Say "Did you go?", not "Did you went?"
