Конспект

What are we learning today?

You will learn to give advice, to say what is necessary and to say what is not allowed.

Explanation

  • Use should for advice: "You should help your neighbours."
  • Use need to for something necessary: "You need to take an umbrella."
  • Use must for a strong rule.
  • Use mustn't for something that is not allowed: "You mustn't leave rubbish in the yard."
  • After should and must, use the base verb without "to".
  • For a question, put should first: "Should we go?"

Examples

  1. No one should miss this.
  2. They mustn't talk in the cinema.
  3. You mustn't park near the school gate.

Remember!

  • Say "He mustn't run", not "He mustn't to run".
  • Do not add -s to should and must.

Check yourself

  1. Choose: "You ___ drop rubbish." (mustn't / should)
  2. Make a question with should: we / go
