What are we learning today?

You will learn to write about something that really happened. You will use the past simple, order words and feelings.

Explanation

• Answer: Where? When? Who with? What did you do?
• Use the past simple. Regular verbs end in -ed, like watched. Some verbs are irregular, like went and had.
• Use order words: first, then, after that, in the evening.
• At the end, say how you felt.

Examples

1. We went there today.
2. We spent a long time watching the fish.
3. Yesterday I went to the park with my cousin. We played football, then we had ice cream. It was a great day.

Remember!

• Use the past tense for a past day.
• Put events in the right order and add a feeling.
