• Conjunctions join parts of a sentence.

• Use "because" for a reason.

Examples

1. It is cold, so I wear gloves.
2. If it rains, we stay at home.
3. We go to bed early, before Dad comes home.
4. This is the school where I study.

Remember!

• "so" shows a result. "because" shows a reason.
• After "if", use the present: "If it rains".
