What are we learning today?

You will write a short text about an animal in three stages.

Explanation

Good writing has three stages.

1. PLAN: make a word web. Think about food, looks, facts, activities and place.
2. WRITE: use your notes. For example, "Hippos live in central Africa. They eat plants."
3. CHECK: read slowly after you write. Look at verb endings, plurals and capital letters.

Examples

1. Plan: a word web about an elephant.
2. Write: "Elephants eat plants."
3. Check: change "Hippo eat plants" to "Hippos eat plants".
