Writing a Paragraph

What are we learning today?

You will put sentences in a good order to make a paragraph.

Explanation

A paragraph is a group of sentences about one idea. Start with a general sentence. Then add details. Then add an interesting fact. A text about an animal can go in this order: where it lives, what it looks like, what it does, what it eats. Use "they" so you do not repeat the animal's name.

Examples

1. Giraffes live in Africa. They are tall. They eat leaves.
2. Hippos live in central Africa. They are big and fat. They have small eyes.
3. Wolves are wild animals. They eat meat.

Remember!

• One paragraph has one main idea.
• Do not start with "They". Say the animal's name first.
