What are we learning today?

You will write true facts about a person, a place or an object.

Explanation

A factual description says what something is, what it looks like and what it has. Use these patterns.

• It is + adjective.
• It has + noun.
• It lives in + place. Keep facts true and exact. Write numbers, colours, sizes and places. Do not write opinions.

Examples

1. Our school is big. It has a green gate and a large garden.
2. Adult hippos are usually three to four metres long.
3. My friend is tall. She has long hair.

Remember!

• "I like this animal" is an opinion, not a fact.
• Do not forget the verb. Say "The hippo is big", not "The hippo big".
