What are we learning today?

You will use prepositions to talk about place, time and movement.

Explanation

• Place words are behind, in, in front of, between, next to and on.
• Time words are at lunchtime, in the morning, in the afternoon, at night and at the weekend.
• Movement words are to, into, out of, from and towards.
• You can travel on foot or by bus.

Examples

1. The notebook is on the desk.
2. We all stay at school at lunchtime.
3. I went on foot from my flat to the station.
4. The footsteps came towards me.

Remember!

• Say "in the morning", not "on the morning".
• Say "on foot", not "by foot".
• Use into for movement: "He walked into the room".
