Prepositions of Time and Place

What are we learning today?

You will use small words to talk about time, place and movement in your day.

Explanation

• Time: in the morning, in the afternoon, at lunchtime, at night, at the weekend.
• Place: on the table, in the pencil case, next to, behind, outside.
• Travel: by bus, by tram, on foot.
• Movement: into a room, out of a house, across a bridge, from home to school.

Examples

1. In the morning I do some exercise.
2. The book is on the table.
3. I go to school by bus.
4. He ran out of the house.

Remember!

• Say "on foot", not "by foot".
• Say "at the weekend", not "in the weekend".
