Present Continuous

What are we learning today?

You will say what is happening now. You will also talk about plans for the near future.

Explanation

• Form: am / is / are + verb-ing.
• Use it for now: "I'm taking a photo."
• Use it for plans: "We're planning a trip today."
• Negative: "It isn't raining." Question: "Is he having breakfast?"
• Spelling: write - writing, stop - stopping, play - playing.

Examples

1. We're having lunch now.
2. What are you doing? I'm taking a photo.
3. My parents aren't working this week.

Remember!

• Do not forget am, is or are: say "I am writing", not "I am write".
• Use the present continuous for now and for plans.
