Конспект
What are we learning today?
You will talk about experience and about actions that go on until now.
Explanation
- Form: have or has + past participle.
- Use it when you do not say when something happened. Time words: ever, never.
- Use for with a period of time. Use since with a starting point.
- Use the past simple when you say the time: I broke my foot last weekend.
- Some participles are irregular: break - broken, fall - fallen, see - seen.
- Negative: have not (haven't), has not (hasn't).
Examples
- He has broken fifteen bones.
- My sister has lived in Almaty for five years.
- She has lived here since 2019.
Remember!
- Say "he has broken", not "he have broken".
- Use "since" with a date and "for" with a period.
- Do not use present perfect with "yesterday".
Check yourself
- Complete: "They have worked here ___ ten years." (for / since)
- Make it negative: "I / see / this film."
