Конспект
What are we learning today?
You will learn how to use words like someone, anything and everybody.
Explanation
- These words begin with some-, any-, no- or every-. They end with -body, -one, -thing or -where.
- Use "some-" in positive sentences: I live somewhere near the park.
- Use "any-" in questions and negative sentences: I can't see anything.
- Use "no-" with a positive verb: Nobody was at home.
- Never use two negative words together.
- The verb after "everyone" is singular: Everyone is here.
Examples
- There's something for everyone.
- I've never seen anything like it.
- No one should miss this.
Remember!
- Do not say "I don't see nothing". Say "I don't see anything".
- Say "Everyone is", not "Everyone are".
Check yourself
- Choose: "I don't want (anything / nothing) to eat."
- Choose: "Everyone (is / are) here."
