You will learn how to find the author's attitude in a short text. You will look for words of feeling.

Explanation

• Look at the strong adjectives and verbs.
• Ask: What words show feeling?
• Ask: Is the writer for or against?
• Ask: Does the text give advice?
• A fact, like 1,200 shops, is not an attitude.
• Liam likes the mall, but he does not like shopping.

Examples

1. It's amazing. No one should miss this. The attitude is positive and excited.
2. I think shopping is awful. It is so boring.
3. It's a way of collecting money to make life better for people. The writer is for charity and wants you to join.
