Words like someone and nothing

You will learn to use words like someone, something and somewhere. You will use them in sentences about people, things and places.

Explanation

• These words do not give an exact name.
• Words for people: somebody, anybody, nobody, everybody. Words with "one" are the same: someone, anyone, no one, everyone.
• Words for things: something, anything, nothing, everything.
• Words for places: somewhere, anywhere, nowhere, everywhere.
• Use some- in positive sentences. Use any- in negative sentences and questions.
• Use no- with a positive verb.

Examples

1. If you want to go somewhere amazing, try the Dubai Mall.
2. I've never seen anything like it.
3. Everyone who lives in my block is nice.

Remember!

• Do not use two negatives: say "I don't have anything".
• After everyone, use a singular verb: "Everyone is here."
