Конспект
What are we learning today?
You will use any, no, each and every in sentences.
Explanation
- Use "any" in questions and negatives with plural nouns.
- "No" means "not any". The verb stays positive: There were no cats.
- Use "every" for all of a group: every day, every year.
- Use "each" for one by one: Each student has a pencil.
- After "every", use a singular noun and a singular verb.
Examples
- Were there any roses in the garden?
- There weren't any cows in the field.
- Every student has a book.
Remember!
- Do not say "Are there some books?" Say "Are there any books?"
- Do not say "aren't no pens" or "every students".
Check yourself
- Choose: "Are there ___ cats in the garden?" (any / no)
- Rewrite with "no": "There aren't any pens."
