Pronouns and Quantity Words

What are we learning today?

You will use pronouns and the words some, any, something, nothing and anything.

Explanation

• Personal pronouns are I, you, he, she, it, we and they.
• Use this and these for things that are near you.
• Use that and those for things that are far from you.
• Use some in positive sentences.
• Use any in questions and negative sentences.
• Something is for positive sentences. Anything is for questions and negatives. Nothing means "not anything".

Examples

1. These are my blue shoes.
2. That is my mum.
3. There weren't any horses.
4. I have something in my bag.

Remember!

• Say "These are", not "This are".
• Do not use two negatives: say "I see nothing" or "I don't see anything".
