You will describe things with the verbs look, sound, feel, taste, smell and be like.

Explanation

• These verbs can be followed by an adjective.
• They can also be followed by like + a noun.
• Use look like to say what something looks like.
• Use be like to ask what something is like.

Examples

1. The flowers smell nice.
2. That sounds good.
3. This soup tastes good.
4. It looks like a huge tent.
5. What's the weather like today?
6. The water feels cold.

Remember!

• Use a verb + an adjective: "sounds good".
• Use a verb + like + a noun: "looks like a tent".
• Do not use like before an adjective.
