Verb + -ing or to + Verb

What are we learning today?

You will learn which verbs are followed by -ing and which are followed by to + verb.

Explanation

• After like, love, hate and don't mind, use the -ing form.
• After want, use to + verb.
• Some -ing forms change spelling: run becomes running, and write becomes writing.

Examples

1. I love dancing.
2. I hate waiting for the bus.
3. I want to learn English.

Remember!

• like, love, hate, don't mind + verb-ing.
• want + to + verb.
• Do not write "writeing". Write "writing".
