What are we learning today?

You will compare things with adjectives. You will say which transport is faster, cheaper or the best.

Explanation

• For short adjectives, add -er to compare two things. Add -est to say which one is number one.
• For long adjectives, use more and the most.
• Use than after a comparative.
• Some adjectives are special. Good is better and the best. Bad is worse and the worst.

Examples

1. A helicopter is faster than a bus.
2. The cheapest way to travel between cities is by coach.
3. Air travel is the most expensive.

Remember!

• Short adjectives: cheaper, the cheapest. Long adjectives: more expensive, the most expensive.
• Do not say "more cheaper".
• Use the before a superlative and than after a comparative.
